5 Tips to enhance magento development for a better output

Performance, security, speed, etc., are in high demands for eCommerce store. Owners want their e-shop to perform perfectly in every manner. As we know that magento is a feature-rich eCommerce solution, offering complete control on appearance, content and functionality of an eCommerce website. But many magento store admins are complaining that their magento based web stores are not performing well as they are receiving complaints from their users for slow loading and dull performance.
For owners and developers struggling with such types of issues, here are 5 tips to enhance magento development for a better output. Anyone can implement them as these tips don’t require programming skills.

1. Run Regular Upgrades and Updates
Start with the simplest tip – upgrade and update. Your magento e-store is built on core platform and after that, lots of new upgrades and updates have been introduced to the market with more advance features, necessary to involve. Magento introduces each time new versions to solve the problems of common bugs, affecting the site performance. Keep your e-shop updated and upgraded with newly introduced versions as it keeps your e-store well performed and more secure.
2. Eliminate Unnecessary Extensions
E-shop owners and developers are going on adding more and more extensions without knowing that whether they are necessary for their e-store or not. Use of too many extensions laid a direct effect on your site’s performance. Each time when you tend to add any extension, make sure it is not affecting your site’s speed. And if you have already integrated extensions among which many are not of any use, pull them out as quickly as possible because they might be the reasons for slow loading.
3. Check the Status of Compilation
Compilation is a feature of magento, allowing you to compile all files of magento installation to create a single path in order to enhance the site performance. In older magento versions, this feature was turned off (by default) and in new versions, it is turned on by default. If your store is running an older version, turn the compilation on to improve the overall performance of your web store. To turn on the compilation go to System -> tools -> Compilation -> click “Run compilation process”.
4. Disable the Layered Navigation if it is not in use
Layered navigation makes it possible for customers to search products as quickly as possible. But it is useful for e-stores having hundreds of products in each category. It may slow the process down for e-stores with less number of products. You must switch it off if your e-store contains limited products. Set “No” to Anchor category to disable the layered navigation.
5. Enable Flat Catalogue Feature
Flat catalogue will take the whole information of e-store and flatten it into one table to reduce the loading time. Enabling this feature improves the user experience. Whenever users visit to products or a particular category, all the data will gather together from various databases which results in taking a longer time for loading. Flat catalogue builds the required objects with one database query from one database table, allowing e-store to save time and load faster.
The above steps are too simple to implement and they ensure great results or they might solve your basic problems related to site performance and speed. Magento development companies are implementing these tricks to keep their clients satisfied with their services and enable them to face future issues without any programming skills.
